The Tekke of Kütüklü Baba belonged to the Bektashi order, a mystical branch of Islam. Although the original monastery was destroyed in the 19th century, what remains today is the turbe, the mausoleum of the dervish Kütüklü Baba.
The most remarkable element of the monument is its dual use. It is a holy site of pilgrimage for both the Alevi-Bektashi and the Christians of the area. Entering its interior, you will witness a rare sight: next to Muslim symbols and inscriptions, there are Christian icons and lit candles. Tradition holds that the monument was built on the ruins of an old Christian church, which explains the close relationship of the two communities with this sacred space.
