Story Behind It
Its story begins many decades ago, deeply rooted in the heart of Kavala. The Kavala Distillers Union (EN.PO.KA.), founded in the middle of the last century, joined the forces of the city’s old distilling families, who brought with them secret recipes and passion from the beginning of the twentieth century.
Ouzo Kavala Extra was created as the “flagship” of their production. Its recipe is based on total distillation in copper stills, using a carefully selected mix of anise and other aromatic plants from the Macedonian land. Its uniqueness lies in the slow distillation process, which gives it the necessary purity and the rich body that characterizes it. For several decades, the city’s distillery has kept this quality unchanged, making the product known not only in Greece but also in many countries abroad.
